Vera Wang & Badgley Mischka hot off the runway!

This week I’ve been closely watching all the bridal designers that are showing their ready-to-wear formal collections at the New York fashion week. Vera Wang has always been one of my favorites, she just has a way of creating unique shapes and styles with exquisitely draped fabric without the garments looking over worked or exaggerated. Whenever I think of her, the first thing that pops into my head is clouds of billowing tulle floating everywhere, because tulle really seems to be her main fabric of choice. Her fall 2010 collection stayed true to her refined work ethic, the color palette was mostly neutral colors. I adore the sheer necklines and sheer sleeves that she used in some of her gowns.. that woman is definitely after my heart.

Mark and James of Badgley Mischka put on an interesting show. I didn’t really think their collection was cohesive, they seemed to have stolen a gown from everybody elses collection because they had so many different themes, styles and color palettes going on at the same time. Nevertheless I did fall in love with several of the gowns in their collection, even though I was too crazy about the collection as a whole. They definitely thought about every woman when they put their collection together because there is something in there for everyone.
